Dr. Shannon Reed
Shannon Reed is a general practitioner with over 12 years of experience. She has been a Medical Director for two hospitals and has owned and operated a successful mobile mixed animal practice in rural Colorado.
Having first graduated from The University of California, Davis with a B.S. in animal sciences, she then pursued her BVM&S degree from The University of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK. Since recently relocating to the Florida west coast to pursue personal passions like sailing and scuba diving among other water sports, Dr. Reed keeps grounded with her horses, dogs, cat, and husband. Her passion is in providing exceptional veterinary care to her patients and clients using her knowledge and experience to help educate and guide decisions through best practices.
Dr. Reed is passionate about continuing to advance her knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine, always endeavoring to learn new techniques and ways to bring innovative and compassionate care to her patients.
She is very excited to have the opportunity to be the owner of a brand-new. state-of-the-art clinic serving the beautiful areas of Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch, Florida!
Amie Gillespie
Amie is a native Wisconsinite and spent her first 8 years in the veterinary industry as a CVT working in veterinary practice- both general practice, ER and Specialty. She lived and worked in New Jersey for 11 years as a technician and a practice manager and finally settled with her Husband, 2 cats (Charlie and Martini) and one dog (Louie) to live in sunny Florida 10 years ago. Her favorite part of the job is fostering a collaborative environment where her team can thrive. She loves working with clients and their fur babies to create that special human-animal bond and to help provide the best care to them.
She enjoys spending time with her fur babies and husband and going out to eat as she is a self-proclaimed “foodie”. She also loves watching NFL football- rooting on the Green Bay Packers!
